Professional cleanings performed by a certified dentist or hygienist are just as important to your dental health as daily brushing and flossing.
Remove plaque build-up from the surfaces of teeth.
Remove tartar from teeth surfaces.
Tartar, or calculus, is plaque that has become so hardened on the teeth that its removal requires special procedures.
Tartar below the gum line is also an indicator of gum disease.
Remove surface stains from teeth through polishing.
Regular examinations help detect and prevent health issues before they become serious.
When should a child have their first dental appointment?
A. When their first tooth erupts or 12 months of age.
The first primary (baby) teeth erupt generally at six months of age.
The first teeth to erupt are the two mandibular (lower) central incisors.
This is followed by the maxillary (upper) central and lateral incisors.
The mandibular lateral incisors come next, followed by the first primary molars (14 months), canines (18 months) and lastly the second primary molars (28 months).
The pattern and timing of eruption can vary.

At this time, we are contracted with Aetna, Regence, Premera, and Delta.
Our office will assist with insurance paperwork and filing claims to ensure you get the most out of your dental plan coverage.

Dr. Gene Beck graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1997.
He then completed a fellowship in Dental Care for the Developmentally Disabled at SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Beck moved to Washington State when he joined Indian Health Services as a dentist for the Lummi Tribe in Bellingham, WA.
He briefly moved to Roanoke, VA before missing the Northwest and relocating to Seattle in 2001.
Fifteen years in community health service has instilled in him an appreciation and enjoyment of working with diverse groups of people.
