I have practiced orthodontics in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for more than 34 years, and would not trade my profession for any other.
It is so very rewarding to see patients' enthusiasm when they see their smiles being transformed.
The expression on patients' faces the day they get their braces removed is so very rewarding for me.
The maturity the younger patients gain while under our care is really exciting to experience, and the enjoyment of seeing a young adult come back to see us after having been out of treatment for years just to tell us about their accomplishments is fulfilling.
We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs.
Our talented team with over 140 years of combined orthodontic experience is committed to working with you and your family.
We create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding orthodontic experience every time you visit our practice.
We are pleased to welcome you and your family, and we look forward to working with you.
Britani brought 5 solid years of experience to our team.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that regular orthodontic checkups for children begin before the age of 7.
There are several reasons for this early evaluation that we have outlined below.
The back teeth bite is established when the permanent 6 year molars arrive.
At that time, the orthodontist can thoroughly evaluate the dental relationship of the molars.
The front teeth have begun erupting and problems can be detected early on such as: crowding, habits like tongue thrust, top teeth overlapping lower teeth excessively (Deep Bite), inadequate overlap (Open Bite) or upper or lower jaw size discrepancies.
Traditional braces are comprised of brackets that are affixed to teeth and wires that are threaded through slots in the brackets.
Some patients may also have metal bands encircling back teeth.
Wires are held to brackets by tiny rubber bands called "ligatures" or "o-rings."
Brackets are generally made of stainless steel.
Wires are made of metal alloys and deliver a constant, gentle force to move teeth.
See your orthodontic specialist for the treatment option that is best for your individual needs.
The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends an orthodontic screening for children by the age of 7 years.
At age 7 the teeth and jaws are developed enough so that the dentist or orthodontist can see if there will be any serious bite problems in the future.
Most of the time treatment is not necessary at age 7, but it gives the parents and dentist time to watch the development of the patient and decide on the best mode of treatment.
When you have time on your side you can plan ahead and prevent the formation of serious problems.
