Dental crowns are tooth restorations to strengthen and protect teeth, or improve shape and/or appearance.
Crowns can cover an entire tooth, or just a portion of the tooth.
The most common type of crown, a "traditional" crown, covers the entire tooth, while a "onlay" crown only covers a portion.
Typcially a dentist will have to prepare a tooth for a crown then prepare a model of the mouth to send off to a lab where the crown will then be made and sent back to the dental office.
After that the dentist will place the crown onto the tooth and hope that both the color and shape of the crown fit and look good.

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth.
Dental implants can be placed in either the upper or lower jaws.
Due to the biocompatible properties of titanium, a dental implant fuses with the bone and becomes a good anchor for the replacement tooth.
Dental implants can be used in solutions for replacing single or multiple missing teeth.
The fee for tooth replacement with dental implants depends on several factors, including the number of teeth being replaced and the number of dental implants required to support your replacement teeth.
