Dr. Nathan Vick was born in Fresno, California and grew up in the small farming town of Caruthers.
He attended Caruthers High School where he played basketball and tennis and graduated as the class valedictorian.
Dr. Vick grew up working during the summers on his father's farm where he learned the importance of hard work.
After high school he spent four years studying at the University of California, Davis, where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biochemistry.
Dr. Vick continued his education at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, one of the top dental schools in the country.
He attended Caruthers High School where he played basketball and tennis and graduated as the class valedictorian.

The first part of your initial dental visit is a full mouth set of digital x-rays.
These x-rays allow Dr. Vick to examine parts of the teeth and jaw that are not able to be examined by visual inspection alone.
One of our skilled dental assistants will also take a series of digital photos, to further document the initial condition of your mouth and teeth.
During your initial examination, Dr. Vick or one of our hygienists will use a small instrument and mirror to examine each tooth for cavities, plaque and damage.
These x-rays allow Dr. Vick to examine parts of the teeth and jaw that are not able to be examined by visual inspection alone.

That is why at your initial exam, either Dr. Vick or one of our dental hygienists will perform a thorough periodontal examination, to determine the health of your gums and the underlying bone and to diagnose if there is any sign of gum disease.
If gum disease is caught in it's earliest stages often time it can be reversed.
However, if gum disease is allowed to progress it can get to the point where it affects the underlying bone of the jaw, which is termed periodontal disease.
That is why at your initial exam, either Dr. Vick or one of our dental hygienists will perform a thorough periodontal examination, to determine the health of your gums and the underlying bone and to diagnose if there is any sign of gum disease.
