Services
LowCountry Kids Pediatric Dentistry offers a wide array of services to ensure that your child's dental health needs are fully met.
Tooth decay is the number one preventable childhood disease in the United States.
Our goal is for all children to have a "dental home" by the age of one.
This is so we can help to educate parents early with a focus on prevention.
By establishing a dental home at a young age, we hope to prevent dental disease and pain in the future.
Prevention includes routine cleanings, oral hygiene instructions, fluoride treatments, diet guidelines, and sealants.
Every child deserves the best dental care possible.
We will file dental insurance claims as a courtesy to our patients.
It is our goal to help you maximize insurance benefits.
As the legal guardian, you are fully responsible for your account regardless of what insurance will pay.
Fees that we review are estimates only and are subject to change.
Most importantly, please make sure to update us on any insurance information or changes such as policy name, insurance company address or a change of employment.
Our hope is that your child will have an enjoyable and positive first visit to our office.
We aspire to make your child feel comfortable and answer all questions that you and your child may have.
We want your child to develop lifelong, positive attitude towards going to the dentist, that will extend and carry throughout their adulthood.
At the first appointment, oftentimes younger children may not want to sit in the dental chair.
This is completely normal and we may examine your child in a lap based position so that your child feels safe.
Find it and hold it by the crown of the tooth (the part that contacts food), not the root (the part that sits in the gum).
Rinse it with water only.
Never use soap and do not scrub the tooth.
Replace the tooth in the socket.
If you cannot re-insert the tooth then transport it in cold milk or the patient's saliva.
No matter what, time is critical to save the tooth.
Get to a dentist quickly and safely.
Once a baby tooth has been knocked out there is no chance to save it.
A baby tooth does not need to be replanted as it could cause damage to the permanent tooth that is developing.
