Dr. Zapatero is a graduate of The University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. He has earned many awards and accreditations during his 30-year career in dentistry, including twice being recognized by the Journal of Dental Technology as a leader in the dental profession, and consistently named as one of "America's Top Dentists." Dr. Zapatero is among the top 1% of general dentists to have earned their Fellowship, Mastership, and Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award from the Academy of General Dentistry.
Along with these achievements, Dr. Zapatero is an adjunct faculty member, the UNC School of Dentistry, and a visiting faculty and Scholar at the L.D. Pankey Institute, and a Legislative Committee member of the Virginia Dental Association. Dr. Zapatero is most proud of his Fellowship of the prestigious American College of Dentists, which limits membership to just 3.5% of all dentists.
