Skyway Dental Clinic
Fredrick Schilling, D.D.S. started Skyway Dental Clinic in 1982 and was joined in 2017 by Maggie Craven Thompson, D.D.S. Skyway Dental Clinic is a comprehensive and caring dental home for families and working professionals in and around downtown Minneapolis. Dr. Fred and Dr. Maggie are proud to be part of the large and bustling downtown community but their approach to dentistry features more personal touch.

Dr. Fred and Dr. Maggie believe spending focused, one-on-one time with our patients is important for fostering strong patient-provider relationships. We are committed to patient education and our goal is to empower each person who comes through the door to be active, informed participants in decisions regarding their dental health care.

From routine dental cleanings and regular oral health care visits to advanced dental procedures, oral cancer screenings, and reconstructive dental surgery, the team at Skyway Dental Clinic can help detect and treat all your dental concerns.
Services
We avoid the chemicals used in the traditional developing process, so it is better for our environment.
We have proudly incorporated the use of intra-oral cameras in our office.
These tiny cameras are placed inside our patients' mouths to take a close up picture of the teeth and gums.
This picture can then be displayed on the flat screen monitors in our treatment rooms and discussed with our patients.
This tool is extremely helpful with patient education, as it helps our patients understand why treatment is necessary for specific dental conditions.
We offer a variety of cleanings and gum treatments to fit all of our patients' needs.
Some patients just need a standard cleaning, where others may require more extensive deep cleanings.
Our Dental Hygienists are trained and equipped to treat most patients right in our office and rarely need to refer to a specialist.
At your initial exam and every cleaning appointment, our dentists will perform a comprehensive dental exam.
We will examine the teeth and check for cavities or areas showing abnormal wear.
Tooth-colored restorations, also known as composites, are silver-free, mercury-free and BPA-free fillings placed to restore your tooth's natural appearance.
Composite restorations are perfect for fixing small to medium sized cavities, chips, and broken teeth.
They are more durable, less invasive, and less temperature sensitive than standard silver fillings.
Did you know you can take years off of your smile in just a couple of hours?
You can instantly have a brighter and more youthful looking smile by whitening your teeth with our clinical strength whitening products.
Topical anesthetic is applied with a cotton swab on the gums to reduce the discomfort of an injection and to ensure that our patients are as comfortable as possible when receiving local anesthetic.
Local anesthetic is the numbing agent injected into a specific area of the mouth to prevent discomfort during dental procedures.
Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is safe for children and adults and is often used to help reduce anxiety or strong gag-reflexes in our patients.
In some instances, nitrous oxide can be used in place of local anesthetic.
Missing teeth can make simple tasks like smiling and chewing seem intimidating.
At Skyway Dental Clinic in Minneapolis, Dr. Fred Schilling or Dr. Maggie Craven Thompson and a dedicated team of experts can help restore your natural smile with support from a dental bridge.
Call or book an appointment online today for more information on how a dental bridge can improve your smile, so you can look and feel your best.
A dental bridge is exactly what it sounds like: a "bridge" that connects the surrounding teeth to fill in the blank space left by a missing tooth.
