Capital Pediatric Dentistry
Our office exceeds the safety standards mandated by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Dental Board of California for safe performance of IV sedation in the dental office. Learn why our patients travel great distances for our specialized care. Gabby needed A LOT of dental work. In the past, she was very scared to take laughing gas and we didn't want her to start fearing going to the dentist.

Dr. Crippen suggested sedation to help her to feel more comfortable. We were concerned but decided that sedation was the best option. Dr. Crippen and his team answered all of our questions and we felt very comfortable with Gabby's sedation. The entire office was closed to all other patients and they all focused solely on Gabby for the entire procedure.

Gabby was comfortable the entire time, and after the procedure had very little soreness and no scary memories. This type of dentistry is great for those who have anxiety, a low pain threshold, can't sit still in a dentist's chair, someone with very sensitive teeth, those with a strong gag reflex or anyone needing an extensive amount of dental work.
Services
At Capital Pediatric Dentistry we strive to make your child's visit educational and enjoyable.
We want your child to feel good about visiting the dentist and understand the importance of taking care of their teeth.
As parents, you can help us make your child's visit a positive one.
Digital x-rays will be taken (as needed) to diagnose cavities, infections, position and location of un-erupted teeth.
You'll finish the appointment with a clear understanding of the next steps needed to fix any issues we identified.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recognizes this technique as a very safe, effective technique to use for treating children's dental needs.
The gas is mild, easily taken and with normal breathing, is quickly eliminated from the body.
It is non-addictive.
While inhaling laughing gas, your child remains fully conscious and keeps all natural reflexes.
Please inform us of any change to your child's health and/or medical condition.
Tell us about any respiratory condition that makes breathing through the nose difficult for your child, as they may limit the effectiveness of the nitrous oxide/oxygen.
Pediatric dentists are the Pediatricians of dentistry.
Pediatric dentistry is the specialty of dentistry that focuses on the oral health and unique needs of young people.
After completing a four-year dental school curriculum, two to three additional years of rigorous training is required to become a pediatric dentist.
This specialized program of study and hands-on experience prepares pediatric dentists to meet the unique needs of your infants, children and adolescents, including persons with special health care needs.
