Services
Exams and cleanings are essential for keeping your teeth feeling and looking their best.
Exams give us an idea of any problems that might be going on so that treatment is provided early on.
Cleanings are performed by hygienists who can clean your teeth and remove hardened plaque and stains.
Both should be done every six months as part of your preventative care regimen.
If you continually forgo routine care, you will find that minor problems become more major and you have issues with tartar buildup because of ignoring professional cleanings.
Fillings are helpful for restoring a tooth that is decayed.
Cavities can happen for a variety of reasons.
The result is a decayed portion of tooth that can become problematic to your oral health.
To prevent the decay from getting worse, it is removed and a tooth-colored filling put into its place.
A dental filling is typically needed if you have a cavity.
Over time, a small cavity can become much larger to the point of infiltrating the inner pulp.
Once this occurs, a root canal is necessary to restore the tooth.
A dental x-ray is essential for helping us see below the surface of the teeth and gums.
Many dental conditions and problems may be underneath this surface, and they'd go unnoticed without the help of an x-ray.
The x-rays that we take in our office use a minimal amount of radiation.
You can expect x-rays to be taken at the majority of your dental appointments.
X-rays are an essential part of your dental health and care.
They are safely taken on virtually every member of your family.
We use these x-rays to detect and find problems while monitoring for any changes.
Fluoride is often found in most dental products and even public water sources.
It is helpful in protecting the teeth from decay by strengthening them.
Fluoride treatments can be done in our office as a way to add an extra layer of protection where you need it the most.
These treatments are most often applied to pediatric teeth, but they're helpful for adults as well.
We might suggest fluoride treatments if you aren't using fluoride during your daily brushing and flossing routine.
If you are prone to decay, have many fillings already or have issues with sensitivity, these treatments can be equally beneficial.
Sealants are most often applied to the back teeth.
They work to form a barrier between the tooth itself and the bacteria and plaque within the mouth.
This can help to prevent decay from forming, which would result in the need for fillings, extractions and full root canals.
Sealants are clear, and they often last for up to three years.
Sealants are most often applied over pediatric baby teeth to keep them protected and safe from decay.
However, there is absolutely no age limit on when you can benefit from sealants.
