This bonding is made of a porcelain-like material that is bonded to the tooth and is also color matched for a more natural looking restoration.

Screening for Oral Cancer and head and neck Cancer is done at every cleaning and exam appointment, generally at six month intervals.
The screening is done to detect early signs of Cancer.
During the screening process, we will be looking for any abnormal tissue areas and/or swollen Lymph Nodes.
Most times when something out of the ordinary is found, there is a reasonable explanation.
When a lesion is noted, photos may be taken and emailed to the oral surgeon and pathology department at UNC School of dentistry for interpretation.
Periodontal disease, sometimes referred to as gum disease or pyorrhea is screened for at every routine examination.
The ADA recommends that you see your dentist at least twice a year for a cleaning and a check up.

Treating this can vary depending on how farthe condition has progressed.
Some of the signs that could indicate the beginning of a problem are: bad breath or a bad taste, bleeding gums or tenderness when flossing and brushing, overly sensitive teeth to hot or cold and receding gums to name just a few.
