Dr. Givens studied biology and chemistry at Western Kentucky University. After this, Dr. Givens attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1988. Upon graduating, he started a solo practice twenty miles north of Nashville in White House, Tennessee. Dr. Givens now becomes the 9th dentist in the state of Tennessee to have this accreditation.
The awards ceremony will take place in Denver Colorado next April at the AACD's annual Scientific Session. In the history of the Academy, there have been 420 dentists to have received this award.
