Services
If you have dental insurance we will help you determine the coverage you have available.
In order to best assist you, it is important that you submit your dental and/or medical insurance information to us with your New Patient Paperwork a minimum of two business days prior to your scheduled appointment.
This allows us time to contact your insurance company and obtain a breakdown of the benefits you or your employer purchased from the company.
Should you be diagnosed with treatment services, we will be able to provide you with a detailed plan which will give you an estimate of how much your insurance company may pay for each procedure, as well as the portion you will be expected to pay at the time of service.
We strive to schedule an appropriate time for each patient family that visits Eugene Mumford, DDS, taking into account the individual needs of each child.
While we understand that emergencies happen, and it's difficult to plan for the unexpected, it's important that we respect the time of our staff, as well as those patients who may be waiting for an appointment with us.
Accounts that are past due will accrue late fees in the amount of $5.00 per 30 days past due (after insurance payments have been applied).
Your child's first dental visit will consist of a thorough review of your child's dental and health information and a comprehensive dental examination along with a discussion on proper diet, nutrition and good oral hygiene habits.
Depending on the age and needs of your child, we will complete a professional dental cleaning, conduct re-mineralization therapy, and take any necessary x-rays.
Dr. Eugene Mumford will take time to discuss any concerns you may have, and prepare you for what you can expect during your child's oral development.
It's important to teach your child good oral hygiene habits early, because cavities can start even before babies have visible teeth!
Babies have 20 primary teeth that are already present in the jaws when they're born.
Primary teeth start coming in around 6 months of age, and create a healthy foundation for adult teeth by maintaining space in the jaw.
Do Baby Teeth Really Matter?
If a primary (baby) tooth is lost too early, the permanent (adult) teeth can start to move into the empty space and make it difficult for the other permanent teeth to find room when they come in.
Professional cleanings performed by a licensed dentist or hygienist are just as important to your dental health as daily brushing and flossing.
Some patients will require a deep cleaning due to gum disease and past periodontal treatments.
Dr. Eugene Mumford will review your past dental history and identify any issues you may need treatment for.
Regular examinations, by Dr. Eugene Mumford, help detect and prevent health issues before they become serious.
Consistent dental check-ups help catch problems when they are small and easier to treat.
