He furthered his education at the prestigious Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, earning a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After graduating top of his class, Dr. Maddux was admitted into the orthodontic residency program at West Virginia University where he received a Master's in orthodontics.
