Dr. Charles Elkington grew up in Tooele, Utah and attended Dixie State College immediately after high school. After serving a two year mission in Portland, Oregon, he returned to Dixie where he met his wife, Jessica, and later graduated with his Associate's Degree.
Dr. Elkington then moved with his wife to Cedar City where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Southern Utah University.
