My name is Dr. Raul Reyes. I am a Santa Paula Dentist born and raised in Santa Paula. I graduated Valedictorian from Santa Paula High School in 1983. I graduated from UCSB and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physiology and Cell Biology.

I then continued my education at UCLA and received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1993. I always wanted to come back to Santa Paula to practice general dentistry and have been a Santa Paula dentist since 1993. I enjoy providing Santa Paula with affordable dental care. I strive to make procedures comfortable using techniques like nitrous oxide sedation.

I do General dentistry procedures like extractions, dentures, crowns, root canals, fillings, gum disease treatment, and more. I enjoy my work and understand your need for an affordable, caring, concerned and convenient dental office.

As a Santa Paula Dentist it is nice to get out in the surrounding areas and have community involvement.
Being a Dentist in Santa Paula allows me to take care of the City of Santa Paula and Fillmore and help people be more aware of their dental needs.
Dr. Raul Reyes enjoys going to health fairs to help people increase their dental awareness and how to prevent cavities and tooth loss.
One form of replacement for a missing tooth or teeth is the fixed partial denture, also called a fixed bridge.
The fixed bridge is a restoration which cannot be easily removed by the dentist or the patient.
It restores the missing parts of your dental arch much more effectively than a removable partial denture.
Certain requirements must be met before a fixes bridge can be placed in your mouth, .
The health of the teeth adjacent to the space is most important.
The teeth next to the space caused by the missing tooth (or teeth) must have sound gum and bone support and be free from any infection.
Badly decayed or broken teeth often must be repaired by using a cap or crown.
Dr. Reyes will recommend this procedure when filling the tooth to its proper shape becomes impossible.
After a cavity has been prepared, you must have enough good sound tooth left to hold the filling materials in place.
A cap or crown is a replacement of the part of the tooth which is above the gum line.
Crowns fit over the tooth.
Fillings are forced down into a cavity that has been drilled by Dr. Reyes.
Crowns protect the teeth and restore their biting function.
Tartar or Calculus: which sticks to the necks of teeth, is the enemy we are fighting.
Calculus can cause destruction of the gums and underlying bone if allowed to remain on the teeth.
As calculus grows, it extends above and below the gum line, firmly attaching itself to the tooth and irritating the gum tissue.
Calculus begins as a soft, sticky material called plaque.
The responsibility for plaque removal is your job.
The best way to keep teeth free from plaque is to properly brush and floss them daily.
Tooth whitening techniques vary from at- home trays and in office laser whitening.
Although the results and lasting effects are similar, the costs can vary substantially.
In order to keep the color of your teeth lighter you will have to periodically whiten your teeth.
Many attempts have been made to esthetically improve the shade of one's teeth.
Bleaching has become one of the most requested services provided by the dental profession.
The bleaching procedures have been proven safe and effective by the ADA.
