Dr. Kelly Hughes was born and raised in Augusta, GA, and has been in private practice in the Augusta and North Atlanta areas since 2005.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Georgia College and State University, and completed her dental and advanced pediatric dental training at the Medical College of Georgia (now known as Augusta University) in 2003 and 2005, respectively.
Dr. Hughes is passionate about providing quality dental care to children and strives to provide a tailored experience for each patient.

After graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Microbiology (2009), she spent some time working in Charleston, SC.
She then returned to Augusta to attend the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, where she completed her dental and advanced pediatric dental training in 2021.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Bates pays special attention to each child's needs, treating them with the compassion and care that they deserve.

That's why we've compiled our patient instructions here so you can be prepared coming into your visit.
Gauze should stay in place with gentle biting pressure.
Change the gauze every 15-20 minutes until the bleeding subsides.
If your child will not keep the gauze in his/her mouth, check the area(s) periodically until the bleeding has stopped.
Give your child children's Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) or children's Acetaminophen (Tylenol) to help alleviate any pain or discomfort.
