She later practiced in Virginia as a contract dentist for the United States Navy serving on action teams aimed at improving care for Naval personal before entering private practice in the area.

Over the years Dr. Utterback has invested weeks in the interview process to find exceptional team members for the office staff.
Despite the long process it has been a very worthwhile one because in the end there was only one goal; creating a positive experience for her patients, from the initial phone call to the final follow-up.
She was looking for compassionate staffers who comprehended what a visit to the dentist meant to most people.
She wanted front desk staff who were friendly and helpful; and dental assistants and hygienists who were knowledgeable, gentle and passionate about dentistry.

Dental implants are a permanent and appealing solution to replace missing or extracted teeth.
They are better than other alternatives like bridges because no additional teeth need to be altered to place the new tooth.
The entire implant process is performed over the course of a few months.
The first part of the process is to install the implant itself, where a screw is placed into the jaw bone.
An incision is made in the gum so that the implant can be inserted.
Multiple implants can be placed at once if necessary.
