Dental health care means something different to everyone, and throughout the course of your life, your own unique needs may change, as well.
For instance, you will always need routine preventive care, such as regularly scheduled checkups and cleanings, no matter how old you are.
But on occasion, you might also require a cosmetic touchup to revitalize your smile's appearance, or a restorative treatment to repair a damaged or infected tooth.
If you've lost one or more teeth, then you will need a custom, lifelike prosthetic option for replacing them and rebuilding your smile.

Londonderry's 2017 Old Home Day celebrations have just come to an end.
As part of the Londonderry community, My Dentist was excited to be involved in this yearly event.
Our staff was on hand to give out special goody bags to participants, with an assortment of tote bags, balloons, toys, and other fun items offered.
Of course, we also added toothbrushes and toothpaste to the mix.
We even held a special raffle where we gave away an electric toothbrush!

The reason why regularly scheduled exams and cleanings are so important is because prevention is the most important aspect of dental health care.
During your examinations, your dentist might also utilize digital imaging equipment, such as X-rays and intraoral cameras, to produce a clearer picture of your oral health.
In addition to providing a more precise image than traditional radiology, digital X-rays also produce up to 90 percent less radiation, making them significantly safer.
If an issue is detected, such as a damaged or infected tooth, then digital imaging can also help your dentist more accurately diagnose your condition, and design the most appropriate treatment plan.
