She was the youngest person in her elementary school to have braces, so, naturally, she was teased.

She found that the straight smile her challenging ortho experience delivered gave her new confidence, eventually inspiring her role as a dentist.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences degree from the University of the Pacific in 2011, Dr. Sahota continued on for her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, also at the University of the Pacific.
