Dr. Vu grew up in Antelope, California where she attended Center High School and graduated as Class Salutatorian.
She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology.
Upon graduating from UCSD, she attended the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine where she received her degree, Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) in 2007.
Dr. Vu graduated top ten of her dental class and earned membership into the prestigious Matthew Cryer Honor Society which is the highest academic honor at Penn Dental Medicine.
Dr. Vu and her team take the most routine dental examination very seriously.
When patients come to our office for their twice-yearly check-up, they receive a thorough examination which includes X-rays, oral cancer screening and periodontal (gum) inspection.
While at our office, we make sure that you receive the highest level of service and ensure that our dental work is of the highest quality.
To ensure that you maintain great oral health, this level of quality needs to extend into your personal oral hygiene routine.
Regularly scheduled dental cleaning and examinations can help to prevent a dental emergency.
Many adults go far too long in between visits to the dentist.
As a year or two goes by, infections can develop that can create a painful situation and lead to dental emergencies.
For example, a minor cavity can be corrected with minimal discomfort but if the infection spreads into the center of the tooth the dental pulp can become infected and a root canal will become necessary.
Fortunately, these types of infections can typically be avoided by scheduling an appointment twice a year with Dr. Vu.
Many people are afflicted with bruxism, or teeth grinding.
Some people may do this consciously during the day, but it is a larger problem at night while you are asleep.
Grinding your teeth can damage enamel, wear down teeth, cause jaw pain, or irritate your gums.
The noise from teeth grinding can also disturb your spouse's sleep if loud enough.
If you grind your teeth you should consider a night guard.
The night guard, which is very similar to a mouth guard worn by athletes, provides a barrier between your top and bottom teeth while you sleep.
