Issaquah Kids Dentistry
Pediatric dentistry is the specialty of dentistry that focuses on the oral health of young people. After completing a four-year dental school curriculum, two to three additional years of rigorous training are required to become a pediatric dentist. This specialized program of study and hands-on experience prepares pediatric dentists to meet the needs of infants, children and adolescents, including persons with special health care needs.

We are concerned about your child's total health care. Good oral health is an important part of total health. Establishing us as your child's Dental Home provides us the opportunity to implement preventive dental health habits that keep a child free from dental/oral disease. We focus on prevention, early detection and treatment of dental diseases, and keep current on the latest advances in dentistry for children.

Pleasant visits to the dental ofce promote the establishment of trust and condence in your child that will last a lifetime. Our goal, along with our staff, is to help all children feel good about visiting the dentist and teach them how to care for their teeth.
Services
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics all recommend that children see a dentist when the 1st tooth erupts, and no later than 6 months of age.
These early visits are very focused on preventing cavities before they ever start.
A pleasant, comfortable 1st visit builds trust and helps put the child at ease during future dental visits.
Issaquah Pediatric Dentistry utilizes the most advanced techniques and equipment available to create a positive experience for children when teeth need to be restored.
Our pediatric dentist, Dr. Shradha Bansal, is truly passionate to work with children and teens.
This passion developed early in life and her thirst for knowledge in children's oral health were the driving force for leading her into a career in dental pediatrics.
After graduating from dental school, she completed graduate program in Pediatric Dentistry during which she received extensive training in hospital and clinical pediatric dentistry.
She is an expert in all aspects of pediatric care including childhood development, preventive care, craniofacial growth and development, pediatric oral trauma, medically complex patients, pediatric oral pathology, pediatric genetics that effect head and neck, dental development, restorative procedures, behavior management, conscious sedation, and care of children with special health care needs.
Early and regular visits to a pediatric dentist are critical for your child's well-being, and set the stage for a lifetime of oral health.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics all advise parents to take their children to a pediatric dentist by one year of age, and no more than six months from the appearance of the first tooth.
After the initial appointment, an exam should be scheduled annually through age three, and every six months from that point forward.
To ensure you're able to care for their oral health after an injury, we have same day appointments available!
Any time you call our office with emergency concerns, we are committed to working with you over the phone, or getting your child in for a visit as soon as possible.
If you haven't had an appointment with us previously, and come to us first for an emergency, that's OK!
What should I do if my child's baby tooth is knocked out?
Contact us as soon as possible.
The baby tooth should not be replanted because of the potential for subsequent damage to the developing permanent tooth.
Our new office is designed specifically for kids and most of our patients think that "getting a filling" is actually fun!
We will offer your child the choice of watching TV or a movie.
We will also offer your child nitrous oxide/oxygen analgesia or "happy air" to help them be more relaxed.
Most of the time we will be able to restore teeth with a tooth-colored bonded composite material.
Teeth that have more advanced decay will require a full coverage restoration, or stainless steel crown.
When possible and always for anterior teeth, we prefer to address this with tooth-colored crowns that make the teeth look new again.
