Office of Dr. Lisa Yarborough and Dr. Michelle Skierkowski, Board Certified Pediatric Dentists, serving the areas of Tualatin, Oregon and the surrounding cities of Portland, Tigard and Lake Oswego. We focus on the individual needs of each child to create and maintain healthy smiles and healthy kids. We provide specialized care for infants, children and teens in a warm and compassionate environment and are dedicated to walking alongside you in establishing healthy habits.

My family loves Dr Lisa. She has seen my kids since they were little. They get so excited to go to the dentist since her staff makes it such a good experience for little ones. I just recently brought my 2 year old daughter in for her 1st dental appointment. I was very impressed with how pleasant and professional everyone was. My daughter has some sensory issues (coupled with acid reflux and issues with eating and swallowing.)

Dr. Lisa (and her assistant) were fantastic! Dr. Lisa took ample time to have a comprehensive discussion with me regarding my daughter's complex health history and my personal concerns.
Services
Here at Tualatin Pediatric Dentistry, we are proud to specialize in pediatric dentistry.
We truly believe in starting children off right when it comes to their dental health.
It is our goal to ensure that each visit goes well so that they think of the dentist's office as a good place.
Our entire staff is wonderful with children, allowing them to relax while we care for their teeth.
We are also here for you, the parents.
We know how important (yet difficult) it is to take care of your children's teeth at home.
Lisa was raised in the greater Seattle area and graduated dental school from the University of Washington.
After dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of Washington, which provided extensive training in anesthesia, oral surgery, hospital dentistry and pediatric dentistry.
After the GPR, she moved to Portland and completed her fellowship and residency training in Pediatric Dentistry at OHSU.
When not in private practice in Tualatin, Dr. Yarborough is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at OHSU and Doernbecher Children's Hospital Pediatric Dental Surgery Clinic.
At Tualatin Pediatric Dentistry, your children's smiles are important to us!
We keep kids happy and healthy by focusing on providing exceptional service to promote bigger, brighter smiles.
Our goal is to provide a pleasant and positive experience for both you and your children while focusing on your specific needs.
We understand how intimidating visiting a dentist for the first time can be for children.
For this reason, we strive to have a welcoming and comfortable office for you and your children.
Hundreds of strains of bacteria thrive in the warm, moist environment of the mouth.
Some are beneficial, but others are harmful to teeth and gums.
They form a sticky film of plaque that traps molecules of food.
Bacteria are living organisms.
They feast on sugars and starches in the plaque, then excrete toxins that irritate gums and acids that erode important minerals in tooth enamel.
Saliva naturally contains calcium and phosphate that allows tooth enamel to repair itself.
Supplemental fluoride helps to prevent the attack of acids and the resulting loss of minerals.
For this reason, the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Medical Association believe that topical fluoride is necessary for good oral health.
Because of this, you may be wondering if your child needs fluoride treatments.
Often water is enhanced with fluoride, so additional fluoride treatments are not necessary.
However, if your water is not enhanced with fluoride, your child may need fluoride treatments.
Your child may also need a fluoride treatment if he or she has symptoms like receding gums.
