Services
Being a pediatric dentist means taking care of the little children.
At the end of the day, my goal is to have treated each patient with love and respect, and to ensure your child has had a positive dental experience.
As the years have gone by, my love for the specialty has only deepened.
I absolutely love the opportunity to meet and care for infants, children, adolescents, and children with special needs.
When working with young patients, you never know how they will act or what they will say, which can add a lot of excitement to the day!
A visit to the dentist can cause anxiety - not just for children, but anyone.
At our office, we do our best to create a friendly, warm, and fun environment for your children, not only to create positive experiences at the dentist when they are young, but for their entire lives.
At Shoals Pediatric Dentistry, PC, Dr. Robin E. Lents and her team understand we must develop and maintain an encouraging and trusting connection with every patient.
In doing so, we set children on the path to a lifetime of optimal oral health.
Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, and high-quality dental care.
We understand that your child may feel anxious about visiting the dentist.
We are sensitive to children's needs, and it is our goal to make your child feel comfortable visiting our practice while we provide the best possible care.
During your child's first visit, we will review the dental and medical history forms, and take X-rays of teeth.
Then one of our hygienists will clean and polish your youngster's teeth, and check for cavities or early signs of tooth decay or gingivitis.
We recommend you make an appointment to see us as soon as your child gets that first tooth.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children be seen by six months after the first tooth erupts, or at one year of age, whichever comes first.
All dental specialists (pediatric dentists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, and others) begin by completing dental school and continue their education with several years of additional, specialized training.
During training in the field of pediatric dentistry, Dr. Lents gained extensive knowledge and experience in treating infants, children, and adolescents.
The cost of treatment may vary, depending on your child's individual needs and treatment plan.
We will discuss the cost of treatment before your son or daughter begins treatment, so you can make the best choice for your youngster and the family.
Our office staff is always available to help you with insurance claims and paperwork.
We'll work with your insurance provider to make sure your coverage meets your family's needs and budget.
Please let us know if you have any questions about insurance coverage, and let us know how we can help to make your entire dental experience a pleasant one.
