Children's Dentistry
We take pride that you have chosen to be a part of our practice. Our ultimate goal is to provide the highest quality dental care for all children in the Downriver and Southeastern Michigan area. Our website has been designed to give you an abundance of information about our practice, services we provide, and pediatric dentistry in general. We are dedicated to providing our patient's parents with dental education and nutritional awareness, so that they make informed decisions regarding the dental care for their children.

We are very fortunate to be a part of the lives of children and families that are members of our pediatric dental practice in Southgate, MI. Because our patients are most important to us, we strive to provide a solid foundation with them in order to promote a lifetime of good oral health.
Services
Our office provides dental treatment for patients from birth through their teenage years.
This may include, preventative care, cavity treatment, minor oral surgery, conscious sedation dentistry and some interceptive orthodontics.
We also treat many children with special needs and children with cooperation issues.
Please refer to the "FIRST VISIT" tab on the home page of this website for more information.
The Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child have a dental/oral examination by a dentist by his/her first birthday.
Pediatric Dentistry is a specialty of dentistry that focuses only on children, adolescents and children with special needs.
They are often called the pediatricians of teeth and sometimes are known as developmental dentists.
After completing four years of dental school, the dentist must complete two to three additional years of rigorous training to become a pediatric dentist.
These additional years of training allow for the pediatric dentist to understand the special dental and emotional needs of growing children.
We invite you to stay with your child during the initial examination so that you and your child may meet the doctor and staff and become comfortable in our office.
During future cleaning appointments (over age of 3 years), we have a "children only practice" and require that you allow your child to accompany our staff through the dental experience (please see Office Information).
During the first visit, we encourage you and your child to ask questions and express any concerns so that we may offer explanations to alleviate any anxieties.
For more information concerning pediatric dentistry, please visit the website for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
The pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years.
The very young, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with their behavior, guiding their dental growth and development, and helping them avoid future dental problems.
Sending through this online portal will ensure that your email gets to the doctor safely and securely.
Preschool children and children with special needs are seen in the morning because they are well rested and without the after school rush, we can work more slowly with them for their comfort.
School aged children with a lot of work to be done should be seen in the morning for the same reason.
All sedated children will be seen in the morning since sedations require an empty stomach.
Since appointed times are reserved exclusively for each patient we ask that you please notify our office 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time if you are unable to keep your appointment.
