Born in Ames, IA, he spent most of his childhood and teen years in South Korea.
Returning to the U.S. alone, he earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
After graduation, Dr. Song moved to California and completed a one-year year General Practice Residency at the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey, CA, where he was selected The Best Resident of the Year.
