Dr. Maria McMullin is proud to be practicing dentistry in her hometown of Monroe, Michigan. Dr. McMullin earned her dental degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor and has been practicing dentistry since 2003. Whitening procedures have effectively restored the smile of people with stained, dull, or discolored teeth. A crown completely covers a tooth above the gum line.

This is in contrast to a dental veneer, which only covers a tooth's front surface and needs natural tooth structure to support it. Before development of dental implants, dentures were the only alternative to replacing a missing tooth or teeth.
Services
From routine cleanings and fillings to bruxism devices, McMullin Dental Care is equipped to handle all your dental needs.
Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.
Implants are synthetic structures that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root.
All our professionals at McMullin Dental Care maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in dentistry.

Esthetic and restorative dentistry are excellent investments in an individual's well-being.
A preventive (recare) program is a joint cooperative effort between you and our team to preserve your natural teeth, gums, and bones of the oral area by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions.
Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet.
It is continued in our dental office by the efforts of Dr. McMullin and the dental hygienists as they promote, restore, and maintain your oral health.
Regular dental exams, cleanings, and x-rays are all part of an effective prevention program.
Have you ever been told that you grind your teeth?
Tooth grinding [bruxism] is an oral habit which involves clenching and grinding of the teeth.
It is not uncommon in our society.
Approximately 50% to 96% of adults experience bruxism and 15% of children acquire this behavior.
Most often, this habit goes unnoticed by the person.
Bruxism can occur during the day or night.
People with emotionally stressed personalities characterized as being aggressive, controlling, precise, or having time urgency and achievement compulsion, tend to develop bruxism malocclusion (teeth that are not aligned properly).
