They are sometimes referred to as composites or filled resins.
White resin fillings provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size cavities that need to withstand moderate chewing pressure.
Using a resin filling allows Dr. Hine to remove less tooth structure when preparing the tooth, which may result in a smaller restoration.
If the breakdown of the tooth is too large for a regular filling, Dr. Hine will discuss other options, including tooth-colored onlays and crowns.
