Services
Dr. Dave has had experience working in multi-doctor practices prior to opening Midtown Pediatric Dentistry.
His vision in creating his own practice is to offer the small-office experience.
Dr. Dave feels strongly that his patients benefit from continuity of care, or seeing the same doctor at each visit.
One of the most important aspects of pediatric dentistry is the relationship we develop between our office and your family.
Midtown Pediatric Dentistry will focus on the patient and parent experience, and will go above and beyond your expectations to make your visit a happy and memorable one.
Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Academy of Pediatrics, recommends that a child's first visit to the dentist occur by 12 months of age.
The goal is to establish a Dental Home, which is an ongoing relationship between the dentist and the patient, allowing care to be delivered in a comprehensive, continuously accessible, coordinated and family-centered way.
We encourage you to talk with your child about his or her visit in an age-appropriate, positive manner.
Nitrous oxide, commonly known as "laughing gas", is widely used in pediatric dental offices with children receiving dental care.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recognizes this as a very safe, effective technique to use for helping children tolerate dental care.
It is ideal for use in our office because it is very safe, begins to work rapidly, and is quickly eliminated from the body.
Children are not put to sleep when breathing nitrous oxide, but are fully conscious and keep all natural reflexes.
Do you allow parents back for treatment?
Dr. Dave and his staff encourage parents to accompany their children for all new patient visits and subsequent cleaning visits.
For treatment visits (fillings, extractions, etc), Dr. Dave recommends parents and other caregivers remain in the waiting room.
Experience has shown that children tend to do better when their attention can be focused in one direction.
Dr. Dave has extensive training in behavior management and will work with your child in a way that allows them to understand each step of the visit.
The pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years.
The very young, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with their behavior, guiding their dental growth and development, and helping them avoid future dental problems.
The pediatric dentist is best qualified to meet these needs.
It is very important to maintain the health of the primary teeth.
