He received his dental training at Georgetown University and the University of Southern California.
His undergraduate degrees are in music and biochemistry and molecular biology.
Before becoming a dentist, Cohen worked as a musician, both performing and recording.
Music is still a big part of his life.
He serves as chairman of the membership committee at the Santa Clara County Dental Society, a member of the Santa Clara County Forensic Dental Identification Team and is involved with the Council on Membership at the California Dental Association.
