We are delighted to welcome you to our practice and are pleased that you chose us to serve your dental needs. Here at Gee Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, our goal is to create a comfortable and anxiety free atmosphere for our patients. We create custom treatment plans for each of our patients with a conservative approach to modern dentistry. We work to build a dental experience around you.

Are you looking for a new dentist? Our office offers the latest technology and treatment options for better and more comfortable dentistry. One of the top reasons new patients seek out the help of a local dentist is because they have crooked teeth. Most do not want to have a mouth full of metal. Invisalign users clear aligners to straighten your teeth over time and are barely visible at a conversational distance.
Services
For nearly 35 years, we've been servicing the dental needs of Columbia's families.
Our practice was founded in 1979 by Dr. George Gee and his wife and practice manager, Linda Gee.
Their son, Dr. Nicholas Gee, joined the practice in 2005.
As a Columbia, South Carolina Dentist, we strive to bring excellence to all we do.
At Gee Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, our entire focus is to provide each of our patients with a relaxed and comfortable dental experience.
In fact, we are known for our friendly, personalized care and attention.
Going to the dentist is not generally one of our favorite things to do, but if we are going to have the best oral health, we need to make visits to our dentist regularly.
This is just not about checking our oral health but also our systemic health as well.
New studies have shown a direct link between our oral health and our overall physical health.
This means we need to take our oral health seriously.
General dentistry involves regular visits to our dentist for cleanings and exams in order to assess our overall oral health.
A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit.
Examination of diagnostic x-rays (radiographs): Essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss.
X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions.
Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
Gum disease evaluation: Check the gums and bone around the teeth for any signs of periodontal disease.
Examination of tooth decay: All tooth surfaces will be checked for decay with special dental instruments.
One common emergency is a tooth getting knocked out.
Teeth that have been knocked out can be re-implanted but time is a crucial factor.
It is instinct to clean the tooth, but you shouldn't wipe it off because it could remove important tissue.
If you knock out your tooth put it in some milk which will help preserve it until you get to the doctor.
Other dental emergencies may include a toothache, abscesses, swollen jaws or a crown and filling coming loose.
In each of these cases, time is a crucial factor in helping to restore your teeth or tooth and you need to see a dentist as soon as possible.
Most people would agree that one of the first things you notice about someone is their smile.
Apart from being aesthetically appealing to others, having a beautiful smile has profound effects on your self-confidence as well.
Our cosmetic dental patients tell us that enhancing their smiles was one of the best investments that they have made in themselves because of the self-confidence they achieved.
Many who have not smiled for years and were embarrassed by their teeth now have a new lease on life and find themselves being more social.
