Every child is unique and we take x-ray films on an as needed basis.
In general, children need x-rays more often than adults because of the rapid changes in growth and susceptibility to decay.
We obtain thorough medical and dental histories and complete an assessment prior to taking dental films.
Overall, a child with a high risk of dental decay will need films at a more frequent interval than those with a low risk.
