From the moment you walk into our friendly, relaxed, and welcoming office, you'll know you're in good hands. You may even feel at home. You may even feel like family. We believe that the best dentistry is the least dentistry; that prevention is better than treatment; that a visit to the dentist shouldn't stoke fear but be welcomed as one very important way you can support your total health and well-being.

As a holistic, biologic dentist, Dr. Christine Bloss complements the latest technology and clinical practices with traditional healing wisdom. She is an accredited member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology and SMART-certified in the safe removal of mercury amalgam "silver" fillings. Our office has been mercury-free since the mid-1990s, and we follow the strictest safety measures for your health, as well as our own and that of our planet.

Biocompatibility is a must. We have serum (blood) testing available to ensure that any materials we use in your dental care are materials you'll not be reactive to.
Services
When she's not taking care of patients in her cozy and inviting Montrose dental office, Dr. Christine Bloss might be found hiking or biking, singing, cross-country skiing, stand-up paddleboarding, or playing the piano and harmonica - though not all at the same time!
Other passions include cooking healthy food and gardening.
The latter, she makes a family affair: She plants the flowers, and her husband Tom plants the vegetables.
But after family, her first love remains dentistry, which she's been practicing since earning her DDS from the University of Nebraska in 1991 and completing a general practice residency at the VA Medical Center in Lincoln.
When it comes to your dental care, you're more than just a mouth, disconnected from body, mind, and spirit.
Holistic, biological dentistry respects the health of the mouth in its relationship to the whole person.
We understand that the mouth - and whatever is done there - has wide-ranging implications.
It's connected to your body, after all, both physically and energetically via the meridian system.
So first and foremost, Dr. Bloss focuses on using only the most biocompatible and least toxic materials available.
As they say, the best dentistry is the least dentistry.
That's why Dr. Bloss always starts with prevention in mind - to give you the info and support needed to keep problems from arising in the first place.
Here, you can explore some of the key general and preventive services we offer at our holistic practice in Montrose.
A comprehensive exam involves much more than just looking for cavities or gum disease.
It's an extensive evaluation of everything happening in and around your mouth.
It's the starting point for all new patients and recommended every 3 to 5 years after, or if there's ever a dramatic change in a person's health, oral or systemic.
Most people don't realize that the "silver" in so-called "silver fillings" refers more to the color than what they're made of.
The main component is actually mercury, which is used to blend a mixture of silver, tin, and other metals into an amalgam that gets packed into decayed or damaged teeth.
Mercury, however, is one of the most toxic naturally occurring elements on Earth, especially damaging to the brain.
It's most harmful when inhaled - as it is constantly by people who have amalgam fillings in their mouths.
Dentistry is about more than just teeth.
It's also about the gums, jawbone, and all the other tissues around them - but especially the gums.
That's because science is showing just how closely gum disease is related to a wide range of systemic health problems.
This includes heart disease, diabetes, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, kidney disease, cognitive decline, and even some cancers.
Pregnant women with gum disease have a greater risk of having low birth-weight babies and other complications.
Keeping your gums healthy, on the other hand, can increase your life expectancy by 10 years or more!
