I have always been apprehensive about dental visits, but Dr. Smyth is so gentle and caring that it isn't such a fear anymore. Tracey does a great job doing my cleanings, and she is very informati ve and thorough. I chose Dr. Smyth because a friend of mine see her and recommended her to me. Thank you Dr. Smyth! You are a marvelous human being! It took 14 years as residents of Palm Coast to locate the most professional & great dentist.

Dr. Smyth fits the bill. Each time we walk into the office, a marvelous peace greets us knowing that whatever dental problems are present they will be taken care of with ease. Thank you again and again! I just wanted to tell you all THANK YOU and let you know how much I appreciate you all caring and going the extra mile to help someone you didn't even know.

While crowns and bridges can last a lifetime, they do sometimes come loose or fall out.
The most important step you can take to ensure the longevity of your crown or bridge is to practice good oral hygiene.
A bridge can lose its support if the teeth or bone holding it in place are damaged by dental disease.
Keep your gums and teeth healthy by Brushing with fluoride toothpaste twice a day and flossing daily.
Also see your dentist and hygienist regularly for checkups and professional cleanings.
To prevent damage to your new crown or bridge, avoid chewing hard foods, ice or other hard objects.
Teeth that are discolored -- either because of root canal treatment; stains from tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride or other causes; or the presence of large resin fillings that have discolored the tooth.
Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped (for example, have craters or bulges in them).
The color of a porcelain veneer can be selected such that it makes dark teeth appear whiter.
Veneers offer a conservative approach to changing a tooth's color and shape; veneers generally don't require the extensive shaping prior to the procedure that crowns do, yet offer a stronger, more aesthetic alternative.
