Dr. Vander Baan was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
After attending Grand Rapids Christian High School and Calvin College for undergrad, Dr Vander Baan completed his professional training at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.
He was awarded a prestigious military scholarship and had the privilege of serving his country as and officer in the United States Army.
Dr. Vander Baan was selected for, and completed an Army Advanced Dental Residency ( AEGD ).
He proudly served for 5 years prior to returning home to settle down and begin a family.
