Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front side of teeth.
They are an option for correcting stained, chipped, decayed or crooked teeth.
Porcelain veneers or porcelain laminates, are wafer thin shells of porcelain that are bonded to the front of teeth to create a cosmetic improvement.
Porcelain veneers have successfully improved smiles by making dark teeth look lighter and healthier looking, including making yellow teeth permanently whiter and gray tetracycline stained teeth look much more natural.

Mouth guards, also called mouth protectors, help cushion a blow to the face, minimizing the risk of broken teeth and injuries to your lips, tongue, face or jaw.
They typically cover the upper teeth and are a great way to protect the soft tissues of your tongue, lips and cheek lining.
Knowing how to prevent injuries like these is especially important if you participate in organized sports or other recreational activities.
Ask Dr. Schumm to recommend the right sports guard for your activity.
Bruxism Splints, or Night GuardsTeeth grinding is clinically referred to as bruxism, the unconscious grinding of one's teeth, which could happen during the day or at night.

Dental hygiene is an important part of your overall health care regimen.
Our office is committed to providing you optimum cleanings and regular evaluations.
Detecting issues early is important to maintaining your oral health, saving your natural teeth and preventing costly dental emergencies.
Tartar (also referred to as calculus) and plaque buildup, both above and below the gum line, can result in serious periodontal problems.
Unfortunately, even with a proper home brushing and flossing routine, it can be impossible to remove all debris, bacteria and deposits from gum pockets.
