Jay H. Goldstein, DDS
Most dentists are attracted to the profession because they like to fix things, and there are many excellent dentists. But Dr. Goldstein likes to take this a step further. Besides his technical expertise, he also has a passion for creating beautiful smiles. A cosmetic dentist like Dr. Jay Goldstein, besides being a perfectionist who wants everything in your mouth functioning perfectly, is also very sensitive to appearance issues.

He has pursued extensive additional training to become familiar with the newer high-tech materials including tooth-colored ceramics and resins. Check out his credentials and awards. New CEREC technology can create a dental crown in one appointment, avoiding messy impressions and the uncomfortable temporary crown. Dr. Goldstein has completed post-graduate studies in occlusion and complex restorative dentistry at the Dawson Academy.

A great smile not only improves the aesthetics of your face, it projects friendliness and warmth. You won't find a more caring and artistic dentist.
Services
For over thirty-five years Jay Goldstein has been my dentist.
I've brought him a number of challenges over the years, and he has managed to meet each one with a consistently professional expertise that I find remarkable.
He is on top of every technological advance in the industry, and has adopted a number of them that make his practice unique in client service.
Just one example would be crowns made in-house and placed the same day.
Jay always offers every option, making recommendations in layman's terms, and does so with an emphasis on the long-term benefits to my overall health.
Porcelain veneers are thin wafers of porcelain that are applied to the fronts of your teeth to give you a new smile.
They mimic tooth enamel so perfectly, that it can be impossible for someone to tell that anything has been done to your teeth.
And using them, your teeth can be shaped and colored however you want them.
When porcelain veneers are done correctly, it makes it impossible to tell where the veneer ends and the tooth begins.
Also notice, in the photo above, the perfectly healthy pink of the gums.
For those who prefer to do it themselves, there is the at-home teeth whitening system.
We will take impressions of your teeth and make you a custom-fitted tray that you can wear either at night or during the day.
Over a period of weeks, your teeth will gradually whiten until they are dramatically whiter.
When they're as white as you want them, you discontinue the treatment.
Then, every year or two, you re-insert the trays for maybe a day as a touch-up.
The in-office whitening system is ideal for the busy individual.
Laser tooth whitening is a term that refers to accelerated tooth whitening that is done in the office with a power bleaching light.
Several years ago, lasers were actually used to try to accelerate the whitening process.
However, it was found that the highly focused light was actually quite a slow process.
Since lasers focus on a single spot, the light had to be moved around to cover all the teeth.
The slowness was not only self-defeating, but it made the procedure more expensive while diminishing the results.
Many dentists are uncomfortable doing direct tooth bonding, because it requires artistic ability.
But for minor defects in the teeth, or a tooth gap between your front teeth, this is the best, fastest, and least expensive option for taking care of it.
Dr. Goldstein generally uses tooth bonding for smaller defects in one or two teeth.
When you need a complete smile makeover, he will do porcelain veneers or crowns which will be made in a dental laboratory according to his smile design prescription.
