Originally from Avon, Ohio located just west of Cleveland, Ohio, she graduated from John Carroll University with a Bacherlor of Arts & Sciences.
She worked for three years doing laboratory research before she realized she wanted to see actual patients.
She made a career change and went off to dental school at The Ohio State University.
After graduating in 1996, she did a 2 year General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, while also working in a private practice.
She passed the Florida board exam in Spring 1998.
