Dr. Francis Smithgall graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
He then completed a General Practice Residency at Lutheran Medical Center in New York City.
During his residency he worked in a mobile dental van treating underprivileged patients in rural upstate New York.
Dr. Smithgall returned to the Philadelphia area and enjoys a multifaceted career.
He has maintained a private practice in General Dentistry and has served as a Clinical Associate Professor and Course Director at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine for over 25 years.
