Pediatric dentistry involves care that is specific to babies, toddlers, children and teenagers.
We aim to make your child's dental visit as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
At all times, we use kid-friendly terminology so that your child can feel calm during their appointment.
With preventative care, we can help to keep your child's smile looking its best for life.
Dental care is incredibly important when it comes to your child's smile.
It is recommended that children first come in for a dental checkup as soon as their baby teeth begin to come in.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends children get established with a dental home by one years old.
Pediatric exams are done in our office in a safe, comfortable and relaxed manner.
We use kid-friendly terminology at all times to reduce fear and anxiety for your children.
By bringing your child into the office regularly, it helps them to develop good habits that can carry into their adulthood.
A pediatric exam is useful for a variety of different reasons.
First, these exams allow us to monitor the growth and development of your child's smile.
A pediatric x-ray is smaller than an adult dental x-ray done in the office.
This makes it more comfortable for the child to have the x-ray taken and is specifically sized to be easier to place into the child's mouth.
Depending on the patient's needs, a panoramic x-ray is a more comfortable alternative to smaller radiographs.
Keeping your child's teeth healthy involves the use of dental x-rays.
X-rays help to detect problems that would otherwise go unnoticed during their routine bi-annual exam.
Likewise, x-rays are crucial in spotting signs of adult teeth coming in underneath the baby teeth and keeping an eye on orthodontic abnormalities.
