To maintain optimal oral health, the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends visits to the dentist at regular intervals determined by a dentist.
These practices are designed to ensure that teeth are clean, strong, and white.
Children should be taught proper oral hygiene at an early age.
Restorative dentistry is the prevention and treatment of diseases of the teeth in order to restore or bring them back to their best health.
If it's your first time visiting us, we will perform a full dental exam to assess your overall oral health and identify any areas that may require extra attention.
Along with the exam, a hygienist will clean your teeth and evaluate treatment you have had done in the past and any treatment you may need to have completed.
We will take any necessary X-rays to see between the teeth for decay, abscess, bone loss, and any other abnormalities.
Your dental exam will also include screening for oral cancer.
In addition to cleaning your teeth, we perform oral examinations.
Oral cancer kills more people each year than skin and cervical cancer combined in America.
Using advanced dental technology such as digital x-rays and periodontal screenings to check gum and bone health, we can perform comprehensive examinations to determine your overall oral health.
During a full dental exam, your dentist will perform a dental x-ray.
Dental X-rays are routine and only take a few minutes.
If you're a new patient, an x-ray is necessary to assess your current oral health and offer a comparison for later visits.
Intraoral x-rays are the most common and take images inside your mouth to check overall tooth health and development.
X-rays allow dentists to assess your teeth more in depth compared to your physical dental exam.
A yearly dental x-ray will ensure your mouth is growing properly and catch any signs of oral diseases early.

Everyone is super friendly and I enjoy the comfortable feeling of the office! I have horrible dental anxiety and the Derksen office is out of network for me. It means a lot to go someplace that priorities my dental needs, and makes me feel taken care of.

Overall a great experience with my cleaning and wellness exam. I was taken back on time for a quick annual x-ray, then taken to the exam room. The Hygienist (im terribly sorry I forgot your name😒) was there quickly and got to work. She was terrific, she did a great job, and was very personable. Dr Derksen is always cheerful and thorough, but didn't need to spend much time with me thanks to regular brushing and flossing.

Everyone was amazing. I have an extremely shy 2 yr old who they were very patient with. We got him as far as up in the chair to push buttons and to open his mouth for a quick peek and the staff let him know he did great and that next time we could try again to get a cleaning done. I expected a much more traumatic experience - but it was the exact opposite - my son loved it! If you are nervous about how your kids will do - this is the place to go!!

My first visit today was very positive. Dr. Derksen took time to listen to my problem and spent time verifying what was bothering me. He addressed my problem and encouraged me to return if it is not completely solved.
