Our mission is to help our patients maintain optimal oral health and to positively impact our patients' comfort, beauty, confidence, and general well-being.
We do this by providing personalized and compassionate care, and using a long-term approach.
Dr. John Gardiner bought the practice in 1973 from the previous dentist who had been in Fairhaven since the 1940's.
After 35+ years of full-time dental practice, Dr. Gardiner retired in 2007, making way for Dr. Burton to take his place.
Since that time there has been modernization of equipment and computerization at the facility, and most of Dr. Gardiner's loyal staff stayed with the practice through this transition and remain here to this day.
We do this by providing personalized and compassionate care, and using a long-term approach.

Dr. Burton also partners with a long-time colleague Dr. Wade who is a skilled oral surgeon specializing in placing dental implants.
Dr. Wade works out of Newhaven Dental on most Mondays as well as his own office in Burlington the rest of the week.
Dr. Burton oversees the entire process so you will feel confident that you are in good hands.
This ensures that our patients receive the optimal level of care when their needs become more complex and demanding.
Dr. Burton also partners with a long-time colleague Dr. Wade who is a skilled oral surgeon specializing in placing dental implants.
Dr. Wade works out of Newhaven Dental on most Mondays as well as his own office in Burlington the rest of the week.
Dr. Burton oversees the entire process so you will feel confident that you are in good hands.

Optimally a new patient is scheduled with our hygienists for x-rays, cleaning, and then an exam with Dr. Burton.
Once we have a complete analysis of your oral health we will present you with a thorough treatment plan.
However, we understand that a toothache can be a debilitating experience and are open to scheduling new patient toothaches for same day relief when our schedule permits.
For your convenience, we have made our Patient Profile and Medical History Forms available to you as PDF files so that you have the option of printing and completing them in the comfort of your home.
