A crown completely covers a tooth above the gum line. This is in contrast to a dental veneer, which only covers a tooth's front surface and needs natural tooth structure to support it. Whitening procedures have effectively restored the smile of people with stained, dull, or discolored teeth. You may already know that a veneer is a thin covering over another surface.
In dentistry, a veneer is a wafer-thin layer of super-strong porcelain that convincingly substitutes for natural tooth enamel. Before development of dental implants, dentures were the only alternative to replacing a missing tooth or teeth. We set expectations high in regards to customer care and patient experience, and every day we continue to exceed those expectations.
From start to finish, we will put you at ease and make you feel comfortable. Our number one goal is to care about you as an individual. At the practice of Dr. Ken M. Lepinskas, we believe that once a patient steps into our practice, the dentist and patient become a team.

Dental implants are small titanium posts that replace the roots of missing teeth (View Example).
They are inserted into your jawbone during a minor surgical procedure that takes place in the dental office.
After the implant has been placed in your jawbone, a completely lifelike porcelain tooth crown is attached.
In some cases, the implant needs to fuse with the bone for several months before it is permanently crowned; in other cases, you can have new (but temporary) teeth the same day your implants are placed.

Teeth whitening done in a professional dental setting is a safe, effective way to brighten your smile.
It's also perhaps the most economical cosmetic dental procedure.
Depending on the whitening method you choose, results can be dramatic: in-office whitening, for example, can lighten teeth three to eight shades in a single hour.
Professionally supervised whitening will work faster, and protect sensitive gums and tooth-root surfaces better, than over-the-counter whitening products.
Having an oral exam before you begin any whitening process is an important first step to make sure your tooth discoloration is not the result of a dental condition in need of treatment.
