My name is Kathy Ventrice.
I have called this beautiful city my home for the last 34 years.
During those 34 years I have been fortunate enough to have met a very amazing and talented woman I call my best friend, Allison, but you all know her as Dr. Egg! We went to elementary, middle and high school together, but then went our separate ways for college.
Yes, we stayed best friends!
I graduated from UNCC with a degree in Business Entrepreneurship and Economics.
I married my high school sweetheart, Anthony, and we have been blessed with 3 beautiful daughters: Ava, Sophia and Juliana!

Welcoming a child into the world is a joyous occasion, and every parent wants to keep their child healthy and happy.
Oral health is an important.
While it is very important to brush and floss your child's teeth at home, regular check-ups at the dentist are also an important part of maintaining.
Sometimes children develop cavities.
It is important to restore (fix) these cavities not only in permanent teeth, but also in baby teeth.
Baby teeth are important.
Though an orthodontist can enhance a smile at any age, there is an optimal time to begin treatment, and this may vary from person to person.

Oral health is an important part of your child's overall health, and therefore oral health care should begin at birth.
Wiping your child's gums with a clean, wet cloth after feeding not only helps to remove bacteria and sugars, it also helps to prepare and condition him/her to a brushing routine.
The first teeth usually appear between 6-12 months of age.
As soon as teeth are visible, it is appropriate to brush them twice each day using a soft, age-appropriate toothbrush and a small amount of fluoridated toothpaste (the size of an uncooked grain of rice), as this would be safe if swallowed.

Cleanings remove plaque and tartar deposits that may be difficult or impossible to remove during home care.
X-rays at appropriate intervals help to detect cavities between the teeth, and can diagnose and aid in the timely treatment of other possible dental issues.
Placement of fluoride helps to strengthen the teeth and prevent cavities.
