The practice is very friendly and professional. Amazingly well organized practice and strictly following COVID-19 mitigation measures. The office is attractive and is in a good downtown location. The staff is very professional. Semi-annual cleanings are very thorough. What I miss is that small little bag I used to receive from my former Dr who retired. The bag was a toothbrush, paste & rinse. I would leave in my office desk drawer - this was a good reminder to brush after lunch. I miss the little things.

I have a cap on one of my front teeth that has previously been impossible for other dentists to match with the color of the rest of my teeth. The team at Atlas worked relentlessly to make sure that the color and shape was a perfect match. They went out of their way to explain the process to me and make me as comfortable as possible. I've lost track of how long I've been a patient. But before, during and after the pandemic Atlas people from reception to hygienists to dentists have been consummate, caring proffered. They are thorough, utilize state of the are technology and are always up to speed on advances in dental care. Perhaps most important, while the will make recommendations and work with you to devise a care plan, they stay in their lane and make referrals where procedures outside their area of expertise.

I was apprehensive of going to the dentist for a while. I was homeless in my early 20's, then a big chunk of my mid 20's I had awful dental insurance, and was spending most of my expendable income on getting a higher education. After I graduated I went to another dentist office only once. (They treated me pretty bad at this other place and I was honestly scared to go back to the dentist after that) Long story short when I came to Atlas my teeth were in pretty bad shape.
But I never once felt judged for it. Despite having to have a lot of work done, I don't mind going to the dentist at all now. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. It's just a great atmosphere. I'd recommend them to anyone I know.

Truly THE NICEST dentist I've been to. I was looking for a new dentistry practice ever since I left my hometown, and I was really nervous. When I called Atlas, first of all the receptionist was SO PATIENT with me because I was anxious about my not-as-common insurance. And then when I actually went to my appointment my dentist and hygienist were the nicest people.
Not dismissive, not judgemental, actually listened to you. I think this place is absolutely splendid : The only thing though is that they are located in downtown Pittsburgh, so plan accordingly. This was my first time being back in the dentist in a very long time and I was very impressed by the facility, the staff, and the efficiency of my visit. Dr. Mara Mangini is an Artist! She removed a small filling that was inserted in my early twenties., She, crafted, designed and filled the smallest intricacies throughout the tooth. Although the filling was not visible to the eye, prior to Dr. Mangini removing and correcting my old filling, I was extremely self conscious. I have never seen such cutting edge technology within a dental office.
Believe it or not, I am actually looking forward to being fitted for braces. Lastly, I cannot say enough about the diversity among the staff. Everyone made me feel comfortable and part of the family.

Jasmine is very conscientious and efficient. She made sure to include me (mom) in my sons visit. She explained every detail of his exam to us. Jasmine has a lovely personality and is an asset to the practice. The staff are all friendly and listen to my problems. They are fast and efficient and extremely competent. My smile has never been healthier and better looking. My teeth feel fresh dentist cleaning for months after I get my teeth cleaned. They also are very kind in dealing with my anxieties about getting dental work. I love the view too. I had to get a couple of crowns put in and they have this machine that makes the tooth right there in the office.
They can also paint on the tooth different designs. I am most please with the designs and even tho it's hidden mostly from view. I thinks it's wild I have polka dots on one tooth.

The dental chair is not my favorite place to be, but Dr. Mara Mangini has eased me through crowns, replacement fillings, and recently Invisalign therapy for crowded teeth. Absolutely wonderful place. I had been looking for a great dentist in Downtown for a while, and Atlas gave me a personal consult and tour of their office. They also took all of my concerns into consideration and created a long term treatment plan that meets my goals and needs for dental care, something I have never experienced at the dentist before.

This is the best dentist office I've ever been. Everyone is super patient and friendly. I've been very happy with the cleanings and a filling I had. They've been aware when I was filling uncomfortable and were gentle. Yes they tell me I don't floss enough (I don't. Shh, don't tell them) but not in a condescending way. There was no judgement at all that I hadn't been to a dentist since before Covid which I was embarrassed about.

I was transferred to this practice when my former dentist of many years retired. I have found the staff to be quite cooperative and pleasant. I especially enjoy working with my hygienist, Angela. I recently moved to Pittsburgh and needed a new dentist. I contacted Atlas and they got me in very quickly. I had a diagnostic appointment with Dr. Alex and she made an efficient treatment plan for me. 1.5 months and 3 appointments later, my tooth issue is completely resolved and I have scheduled my routine cleaning for the future. On two different occasions, they also called me when sooner appointments would open up in case they could accommodate me quicker. I would recommend this dentistry to anyone.

They've repaired issues I had before coming here and now help me maintain a confident smile. Update June 2020: In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was very nervous to go in for my regular check up.

I called in for an emergency root canal due to terrible pain and dr. Alex took me in the next day. The entire staff was super nice and she did an amazing job on the procedure and listened to me about my concerns and fears beforehand. I'm so happy I finally found a dentist that I can finally say put my anxiety to rest.

Dr. Alex does really quality work, and she's also incredibly friendly. I will say that it's not the cheapest place, but they definitely do a good job. Location can be a bit of a hassle for someone who lives outside of the city, but they're always more than happy to answer any questions you might have. They are also pretty upfront as far as costs go which I appreciate.

If a dental experience can be pleasant, this comes pretty close. And, more importantly, the work done by Dr. Mara is incredible. She takes her time in order to achieve a beautiful result and never makes you feel rushed or in any way uncomfortable. I would highly recommend both Dr. Mara and Atlas Dental Specialists.

I love this office. ( and I don't like dentists!) Every single person in this office is kind, understanding and accommodating. I came in a recommendation of a friend and it's the best decision I've made as far as my teeth. I have been embarrassed of my teeth in the past and never felt comfy going to the dentist. After my first visit I have had a different feeling and passion to visit the dentist regularly for cleanings and with all my needed work I will not hesitate to go. Best dentist in the 'Burgh. The entire staff are very friendly, professional and thorough. They respect your time and your feedback. For a regular checkup and cleaning, I'm in and out in about 45 minutes. This was great when I worked in the city but, since it's such a good experience, I still come here even though my office moved out of the city. Also, Dr. Dunkin-Friedman says I have the best teeth that she works on, so they're very flattering here, too.

I just went to Atlas for the first time after moving to Pittsburgh. I have had the same dentist in Houston for the last 15 years. I was so pleased with the quality of care, the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the Atlas office. The state of the art technology was obvious! Extremely warm, friendly and very professional. Great staff, from the dentists, to the hygienists, to the front desk (and back office). They pay attention to detail and provide excellent customer care. They explain procedures and finances clearly and answer all questions. They do an excellent job of staying on schedule. Dr. Mara is the best.

I chose Atlas because it was the closest dentist to my office, but it turns out they are really great and now I commute there while WFH during the pandemic. Angela has been my hygienist and is wonderful - she and the dentists are very thorough and friendly. They are so efficient that it's easy to fit in an appointment during lunch hour or before work. I've recommended to my coworkers as well.

Atlas Dental Specialists provides superb dental care. I have been going there for over 20 years for everything from cleanings to crowns, and I would recommend it to anyone no matter what kind of care you need. Angela is a great hygienist -- friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable; Mara is a wonderful dentist with similar qualities; and Stacey, Eve, and the other practice staff all do a great job and make you feel welcome and well-cared for.

I have had a great experience at Atlas Dental! On your first visit the technicians and dentist do a thorough evaluation and intake, and really take time consider your needs and expectations. It is a modern facility that has new equipment, the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, and the environment feels clean and safe. I would definitely recommend Atlas!

I went here after sitting with a root canal for a couple weeks. My dentists weren't picking up the phone and never called me back. I found atlas while searching for relief and in my first visit they got me on the right antibiotics and scheduled me for my root canal within a week. They were amazing then and every time since I've been back. Everyone is super friendly, and it's very comforting

I had visited Atlas Dental about one month ago (07/21) for an immediate cavity drilling on my front tooth. I had called on a Sunday & got it done that Tuesday. They show great urgency to improve your dental care. Me personally, I don't not have healthcare. They had a woman come in and break down the cost of exactly each thing that needed done. They were very professional! The communication & professionalism from Atlas Dental is unmatched. Will return!

Some of us of a certain age hate change, but when my previous dentist retired I moved to Atlas. They have been fantastic, seeing me through a root canal and a couple of fillings; always treating me with care and respect. I trust them completely to do what needs to be done in the best possible way. Their administrative staff is super friendly and they are always ready to answer my questions in a clear fashion. I used to have so much anxiety about coming to the dentist and between the scheduling process, the conversation to discuss treatment plans, the exams and any procedures I've had done have all been comfortable and make me feel like I'm actually overcoming my anxiety. Atlas Dental is very clean and professional. And, they were very thorough with the x-rays and new patient exam. Just moved to Pittsburgh so I need a new dentist. This place is WAY better than the building looks from the outside (new equipment & they are expanding as well). New customer will receive a sit down & chat about what they want/need/expect from the dentist/specialist/or Atlas in general. Alex did a wonderful cleaning for me! Highly recommed! Always such a great experience at Atlas Dental. Their facilities are so clean and their extra efforts of sanitation during COVID-19 are outstanding. I feel very comfortable going for my cleaning even under our new circumstances. The staff is so friendly and make the entire experience actually enjoyable. Oh and they also offer an oral cancer screening which I have never been offered elsewhere. Truly tip-top care!

Amazing staff members, who are all incredibly friendly. At my first consultation, I was asked questions in order to make my experience at this office going forward exactly what I am looking for in a dentist. Every appointment is always on time and everything is thoroughly explained to you. In addition, they are making sure everything is completely sanitary during this time, taking temperatures at the door and spacing patients accordingly.

I was nervous about keeping my dental appointment but when I was greeted with hand sanitizer and a temperature check, I felt better. When my hygienist put a face shield over her mask and goggles, I knew I was in the right place. Did I mention the air purifiers. Keep your appointments! I'm glad that I did. A safe place to be with the best hygienist and reception staff ever.

I can not recommend Atlas Dental high enough. I had a horrible experience at my previous dentist which prompted me to do the research to find the BEST dentist office which is when I found Atlas. I found every member of staff, friendly and most helpful. Possible language barriers was an initial concern but after my first visit, these were fully put to rest. All staff was friendly. They explain everything and full information about the procedures and costs was provided well in advance and also at the time. The cost and insurance procedures were also discussed and approved accordingly.
The facilities were completely up to date, to my layman's eye, and spotlessly clean. This was my first visit to the dentist in the USA (I lived in Europa in the past) and I am totally satisfied. Of the treatments available would have no hesitation in visiting again Atlas Dental for any further treatment and I heartily recommend this practice.
