CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a method of computer-aided dentistry for creating dental crowns. The process allows dentists to construct, produce and insert individual ceramic restorations directly at the point of treatment (chairside) in a single appointment, rather than over multiple appointments with lab work in between.
CEREC technology allows dentists to use modern ceramics, which are extremely durable and the fit of the CEREC crowns is very accurate due to the high precision of the scanning machines. Custom-made to straighten your teeth, Invisalign(R) clear aligners are nearly invisible. Each aligner is made of a proprietary, multi-layer SmartTrack material, which gently shifts your teeth into place over time, moving them slightly both horizontally and vertically and even rotating them if necessary.
The aligners are engineered so that as you change to the next set of aligners (typically every two weeks), your teeth gradually move into their correct position.
