Dr. Gary Cook founded this practice in 1981. He went to the University of Michigan and received both his general dental degree and his specialty degree in Pediatric Dentistry there. He gained privileges with an active staff membership at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. Dr. Cook and Dr. LaDue met in 2011 and shortly after meeting, they practiced together for just under a year.

After thirty-three years of practicing in pediatrics, Dr. Cook sold his practice to Dr. LaDue in 2012. The majority of our staff are long-time dedicated members who worked with Dr. Cook between thirteen to twenty-eight years. We have recently added four new staff members. The friendly, familiar faces are assuring to the patients. We strive to engage in conversation with our patients and parents.

Good communication results in better patient care. Dr. LaDue was born and raised in Grandville. He attended Grandville high school, where he graduated in 1986. He attended several universities, including: The University of Michigan, Texas Tech University, and the University of Minnesota.
Services
Knowing how to handle a dental emergency can mean the difference between saving and losing your child's tooth.
If none of these are practical, use water (with a pinch of salt, if possible).
Bring the patient (and don't forget the tooth!) to a dentist or endodontist as soon as possible-ideally, within 15 minutes.
However, it may be possible to save the tooth even if it has been outside the mouth for an hour or more.
Baby teeth that have been knocked out typically are not replaced because of the potential damage to developing permanent teeth.
At your child's first visit we will review your child's health history, do an initial exam, cleaning and secure x-rays if needed and formulate a treatment plan for your child's care.
We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's recommended Age 1 visit to establish a dental home.
You will be given literature on dental development, diet, oral hygiene and trauma.
Not all appointments are successful.
After we have reviewed all aspects of your child's needs, Dr. LaDue will consult with the parents on treatment needs and treatment options (local anesthetic with Nitrous Oxide, sedation in office or general anesthesia at our outpatient facility).
Treatment visits are generally 30-45 minutes in length.
Our restorative treatment generally utilizes local anesthetic and Nitrous Oxide.
If sedation is required, we utilize an oral sedative with the appropriate monitoring.
If it is determined that treatment cannot be done in the office due to behavioral or health issues, we do provide outpatient general anesthesia through Spectrum Health facilities in Grand Rapids.
If your child is determined to be at high risk for decay, x-rays will be in a more frequent basis.
