Services
Dr. Culp practices dentistry in a conservative way, focusing on education and prevention rather than treatment.
At Jungle Roots we strive to give your child a "dental home, " Dr. Culp and our team have been trained in compassionate and calming techniques that will lessen anxiety around going to the dentist, allowing your child to have a positive experience at the office.
At Jungle Roots Children's Dentistry, we recognize your child's need to be comfortable.
Through Dr. Culp's Pediatric training, we can offer safe and effective techniques that are specifically designed to alleviate fear and discomfort during procedures.
Dental Exams and Cleanings - Dr. Culp recommends that children see the dentist every six months from the time their first tooth erupts until they "graduate" to a general dentist as an adult.
This frequency allows us to develop a comfortable relationship with your child and effectively prevent decay and monitor the development of your child's teeth.
Education - Dr. Culp believes that a well-informed family has a much better chance at reducing the risk of dental disease in children, and spends a lot of time educating kids and their parents on proper dental hygiene.
Fillings - Many adults suffer from tooth decay throughout their life for many reasons, and cavities are even more common for children.
We make a point of removing decayed areas while properly restoring the appearance and function of both baby and adult teeth to ensure that the restoration is reliable.
Your child's comfort is also among our top priorities during any restoration; you can feel confident knowing that we will do everything we can to keep your child comfortable and safe.
Broken and Chipped Teeth - Most children are very active when they play, and unexpected falls can lead to chipped, cracked, or broken teeth.
Nitrous Oxide - Nitrous oxide or "laughing gas" is the most simple sedation technique that can be used to help ease your child's anxiety during dental procedures.
Safe sedation can be achieved quickly and easily by simply breathing through a scented nasal hood that only covers the child's nose.
Once the treatment is done, the reversal of laughing gas is accomplished by breathing 100% oxygen for approximately 8-10 minutes.
After a full reversal, there are no lasting effects of laughing gas.
This technique is used often due to effectiveness and recovery benefits.
Emergency Care - While there are many reasons why you may contact us about your child's emergent care, rest assured that there are only a few circumstances for which your child will need to be seen immediately.
You need to call us as soon as possible if your child has had a permanent (adult) tooth knocked out, has a chipped or broken tooth, or has had other significant trauma to the mouth.
If your child has a toothache or other issue of concern, please call us to identify the action that needs to be taken.
