Endodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry that deals with the complex structures foundinside the teeth. It relates to the tooth pulp, tissues, nerves, and arterioles.
What does an endodontic procedure involve?
Initially, a local anesthetic will be administered, and a dental dam (protective sheet) will be placed to ensure that the surgical area remains free of saliva during the procedure. An opening will be created in the surface of the tooth, and the pulp will be completely removed using small handheld files and instruments.
The canal space will then be shaped, cleaned, and filled with gutta-percha. Gutta-percha is a biocompatible material. A temporary filling will be placed to restore functionality to the tooth prior to the permanent restoration procedure. Then a permanent restoration or crown will be placed.

What are Partial Dentures?A removable dental appliance replaces missing teeth and surrounding tissue. It is made to resemble natural teeth and enhance your smile. The appliance can also improve chewing, speech, and digestion. The appliance is very durable and can last many years but may need to be repaired or remade due to normal use and wear.
A partial denture is made to replace several missing teeth and it prevents other teeth from shifting. The partial can have a metal framework with acrylic and teeth to replace the missing teeth or it can be made from a type of an all acrylic material without any metal.
What are Dental Bridges?A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance that replaces missing teeth. A dental bridge is made of porcelain fused to metal material or of a solid all porcelain material. Porcelain fixed bridges are esthetic because they resemble your natural teeth. The bridge consists of two crowns that go over two anchoring or abutment teeth and are attached to pontics or artificial teeth, thus filling the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Dental bridges are durable and can last many years, however at times they may need replacement due to normal wear.

Highly accurate impressions or molds and measurements are taken and used to create your custom removable dental appliance. There will be several “try-in” appointments to ensure proper color, shape, and fit. At the final appointment, your dentist will adjust and place the appliance.
A crown (or cap) covers the entire tooth surface to protect and strengthened the tooth structure and restorethe tooth to its original shape and size.

I am what my previous dentist referred to as a "tough patient." I happen to have a tremendously sensitive gag reflex and am difficult to get numb. But I had absolutely no issues in my two first visits to Dr. Rorhbough. The doctor and her staff members who worked on me (Melissa and Lindsey) adjusted their techniques to adapt to these issues. The result was absolutely no problems.
Everyone at the practice are above-and-beyond types when it comes to being sensitive to the patient's concerns and comfort. They frequently checked in during procedures to make sure I was comfortable. The whole experience was so enjoyable, I might almost look forward to my next visit. almost.

Best Dental Care Anywhere. Dr. Rohrbaugh is highly skilled and very detail-oriented. I have been a patient there for many years and have received the very best care. Lindsay is the best dental/oral hygienist in Ohio. She has such a "soft-touch" that when she is cleaning your teeth I sometimes dose off. :- She is ever watchful for potential oral issues. The entire staff really have our best interests at heart!
