In her college years, she co-published healthcare research papers primarily focusing on the method of molecular replication of Giardia lambia, a microscopic parasite.
She also was involved in local community healthcare clinics in Sacramento and became a chair member of the Global Dental Brigades projects focused on providing quality patient-focused dental care and preventative oral health care education to underserved communities and even overseas, in Honduras.
