When it comes to children's dental health, Shawnee Pediatric Dentistry is a resource for families in Shawnee and the surrounding areas. To keep your child's smile strong, we offer preventive care, restorative solutions, and emergency treatment. We individualize our recommendations based on your child's age, level of cooperation, and the type of dental treatment.

When additional treatment is needed, we'll help you understand your options - with no unnecessary work performed. At Shawnee Pediatric Dentistry, our focus is providing children the best care in a comfortable, pawsitive, and fun (yes, fun!) environment. As a specialized pediatric dental clinic, our 2-3 years of additional training makes us uniquely qualified to treat little smiles and our environment is fun for kids of all ages.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends visiting a pediatric dentist when a child's first tooth appears, or no later than the first birthday. We want to help set the foundation for beautiful, healthy smiles!.
Services
We realize how important it is to choose the right pediatric dental office for your child, and we're confident you'll have a pawsitive experience at our office for all your child's dental needs.
We take pride in the high standard of dental care we provide for infants, children, teens, and special needs patients in an environment specially designed with them in mind.

Dr. Sarah Wallis Karnish, DDS, MDS is a native of Ardmore, Oklahoma and is thrilled to be serving Shawnee and the surrounding areas.
Dr. Karnish obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University.
She practiced as a registered dental hygienist for several years before returning to dental school and obtaining her doctoral degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.
After dental school, Dr. Karnish (affectionately known as Dr. Sarah to her patients) completed a residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis, Tennessee.
Shawnee Pediatric Dentistry focuses on education and prevention because these are the keys to lifelong dental health.
We offer preventive services like fluoride treatments and dental sealants to protect your child's smile from cavities and decay.
During routine appointments, Dr. Sarah will make sure that your child's teeth and gums are healthy.
If any treatment is necessary, we'll take a conservative approach, only recommending for your child what we would do for our own.
Dental cleanings and exams are two of the most basic but important preventive treatments we provide at our office.
Teddy is our sweet, four-legged employee and therapy pup in training!
He's a mini Goldendoodle and excited to help our patients enjoy a pawsitive experience while visiting Shawnee Pediatric Dentistry.
Teddy is currently in obedience training and working towards his therapy pup certificate to help reduce our patients' anxiety and stress.
His job is to create a fun and comfortable environment.
When he's not in his designated office, he'll be on a leash with a trained handler by his side for patients who may feel nervous around dogs.
If your child is experiencing dental issues, Shawnee Pediatric Dentistry is here to assist with compassionate, restorative care.
Cavities are a common childhood dental health issue, so we offer composite fillings and stainless steel crowns that'll treat and protect your child's smile from further damage.
If your child's teeth are sensitive to hot or cold temperatures, or your little one is complaining of a toothache, give us a call to schedule an appointment.
A dental filling is a restoration used to repair minor damage.
